Why this sample is in the benchmark
A hole in the mesh breaks naive meshing and voxelisation (the hole gets sealed), and the glossy response tempts an optimiser to explain pixels with shading rather than geometry. Tests topological correctness.

Acquisition plan
kind local, automatic True,
estimated size 3.24 MiB
- Build geometry 'torus_ring' with {'major': 0.4, 'minor': 0.13}
- Render 12 views (orbit @ 128px, fov 45 deg)
- Shade under lighting: studio, tri_env, top_down
- Write GT mesh, surface points, depth, normals, poses
Fully offline. Ground truth is exact (no SfM, no scan noise).
