Why this sample is in the benchmark

Laser-scan ground truth on a real capture: the reference when you care about absolute geometry rather than appearance. Because it is a point cloud in its own frame, aligned Sim3 metrics are mandatory here.

Tanks and Temples: large real scenes with LASER-SCAN ground truth (dense point clouds, not meshes). The standard geometry benchmark for MVS; evaluate with point-to-point / point-to-surface distances. Registration to the GT coordinate frame is required, so always report Sim3/ICP-aligned metrics.
