Why this sample is in the benchmark

Flat faces plus small repeated high-frequency bumps. This is the classic artifact generator: splats over-smooth the edges and merge the studs into a blob, which the F-score at 5 mm catches immediately but PSNR does not.

Acquisition plan

kind local, automatic True, estimated size 3.24 MiB

  1. Build geometry 'lego_brick' with {'nx': 4, 'ny': 2}
  2. Render 12 views (orbit @ 128px, fov 45 deg)
  3. Shade under lighting: studio, warm_key, tri_env
  4. Write GT mesh, surface points, depth, normals, poses

Fully offline. Ground truth is exact (no SfM, no scan noise).
