Why this sample is in the benchmark

The single most valuable external source for the LIGHTING axis: the same geometry rendered under several unrelated studio environments. A method that is truly geometrically consistent keeps the same mesh across all of them; one that is not will drift.

  1. Dataset home + manifest of 3D models
    https://amazon-berkeley-objects.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html
  2. Download metadata and a single model tarball
    bash -c 'curl -L -O https://amazon-berkeley-objects.s3.amazonaws.com/3dmodels/original/TODO_pick_object.glb.tar'
  3. Pre-rendered ABO images + camera poses for 3D-reconstruction benchmarking (223 GB; contains the varied HDRI renders)

Amazon Berkeley Objects: 7,900+ artist-authored product meshes with 4K PBR textures, plus 398k catalogue photos. This is the best open source of *lighting variation*: every product was rendered under multiple HDRI studio environments, so you can score the same geometry under very different illumination.
